Missoula to organize spooky 5K

Run Wild Missoula will hold a race in October to help earn money for the University of Montana's Physical Therapy Student Association.

The Skeleton Skedaddle 5K & Kids Pumpkin Plod are two community races that will help benefit local students. There will be several ways to win this competitive event. Those who finish the fastest in their assigned categories will receive an award, and there will also be an award given to the participant who places 127th. The event will start and finish at Silver Park. Children who complete the pumpkin plod race will receive a personal pumpkin to bring home.

The University of Montana's Physical Therapy Student Association is a group that helps enhance the educational experiences of students by providing them with money. The university's physical therapy program admits 36 students each year and has a 100% pass rate on the National Physical Therapy Exam. Those who take the program through the University of Montana also have a 100% success rate in becoming employed.

The races will be on Sunday, October 22, and the event will begin at 10:25 am. There is no price for kids to enter the child-friendly pumpkin plod, though they must be aged 12 or younger. The cost of joining the 5K is $17 per person. Discounts are available for runners who register before Tuesday, October 3. Groups that create racing-related fundraisers like this may use flyer printing to advertise the events to others.
