The St. Louis Science Center will host an event in September to support people with primary immunodeficiencies (PI).
The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) Walk for PI is a community event that raises awareness for those with PI while encouraging people to help the IDF by raising funds for its causes. Multiple sponsor and activity booths will be set up at the walk, and attendees can hear from inspirational speakers at the start of the event. The program's route will go through the St. Louis Science Center and over the freeway to the venue's planetarium.
Each participant in the walk is asked to raise at least $125. Those who meet the fundraising goal will receive a t-shirt at the event. The money earned for the IDF will help it provide educational resources to families impacted by PI, conduct research, and advocate for those with PI. Companies can support the IDF by sponsoring the walk. There are also volunteer opportunities where people can assist with promoting the fundraiser to others.
The IDF Walk for PI will be on Saturday, September 23 at 9:00 am. Registration at the event will open at 7:30 am. Those who participate in the activity are required to bring proof of their COVID-19 vaccination and a mask. Foundations that hold fundraisers like this may use banner printing to share their causes and upcoming events with the community.
