St. Louis newspaper looking for interns

The Riverfront Times, a St. Louis newspaper, is looking for interns who would like to work with them during the summer of 2017. The internships are unpaid, but offer journalism students real-world experience that can help in their careers.

The newspaper says its interns are not given menial jobs or limited to working for writers with more experience. Instead, the new people will be given the opportunity to work closely with an art director or editor to learn what a career in journalism is actually like. Assignments will include writing articles, designing pages, or taking photos. Giving the students an opportunity to work many different jobs at the paper will help them determine whether or not to continue on this career path.

The interns can earn college credit for their work at RFT, and the paper says it will work with the students' schedules.

Interested parties are asked to send a résumé, three samples of published works, along with a cover letter, to the Riverfront Times. They are also asked to indicate their area of specific interest—news, food writing, music writing, arts writing, graphic design, or photography. The paper expects to choose its interns by April 1, so information should be sent to them by March 15.

Companies like this can benefit by working with brochure printers, who can create a brochure that explains the needed requirements and benefits clearly.
