St. Louis museum to host scent-themed program
The Stephen and Peter Sachs Museum in St. Louis will hold an event in August to educate people about the scents of food and beverages.
Scents of Wine & Spices is a program by the Missouri Botanical Garden that teaches attendees about the ingredients used in other cultures. The event is part of the Sachs Museum Sniff ‘n Learn series and will be led by several knowledgeable presenters. Guests will get to hear from Michael Leonardelli, a wine educator who has taught at the University of Missouri and The Viticulture & Enology Science and Technology & Alliance (VESTA). He studied food science at NC State University.
Other presenters of the program will include Shawn Maher and Weston Adam, two experienced perfumers with their own businesses. Maher has been with American Perfumer since 2015. He sells many types of fragrances, including Agua Fresca, Benton Park, and Crystal Moon. Adam is the owner of Phronema Perfumes, a fragrance project that began in 2020. He also works on multimedia art projects and has written books such as Ideology and Understanding.
The program on scents and spices will be held on Saturday, August 9. The presentation will be from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. There is no registration needed for people to attend the educational event, and museum visitors will not need to pay extra to see the program. Attractions that have series like this may promote these experiences to patrons by using poster printing services.
