A villainous character will be lurking in St. Louis this holiday season, bringing his own brand of misery to the city.
Apotheosis Comics will be the place to go to celebrate Grinchmas by meeting the Grinch and having photos taken with him. The Grinch’s appearance is to help raise funds for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and photos are priced at $7 each, or $5 with a donation. The Grinch, of course, is the anti-hero of the classic children’s book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
The donations the hospital are requesting include new, unwrapped toys such as board games, Matchbox cars, and LEGO; personal care items such as makeup kits; and Backpacks. The most requested item is fleece-tie blankets, and the Shriners remind those who are considering a donation that half of the hospital’s patients are teenagers from ages 11 to 18.
In addition to meeting the Grinch, the day’s activities include a Cocoa Crawl, and a chance to judge a holiday window decorating contest. A tenth of all sales of cocoa will also go to the hospital. Businesses participating in the cocoa crawl include Botanicals Design Studio, Avec Lua, and Apotheosis Comics and Lounge. These and other participants can be found on Grand, within a few blocks of each other.
The Grinchmas and Cocoa Crawl will take place from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on December 7. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts showcasing the participants in events like this.
