Strength coaches, coaches, athletic trainers, and others who are interested in sports have a chance to learn more about current thinking in the field, when SLU Sports Performance hosts a clinic in early May.
According to an April 11 article, SLU Sports, teaming up with S2A Athletics LLC, is planning to present the ‘Strength, Power and Speed Clinic’ on the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis.
The clinic features experts from the fields of strength conditioning and athletic training, who will speak on trends and theories in the sports field. Saint Louis University Hospital’s SLUCare Sports Medicine is co-sponsoring the event.
The roster of speakers includes Rock Gullickson, who is the St. Louis Rams’ Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Joining Gullickson is Rusty Burney, who is the University of Missouri’s Director of Mizzou Athletic Performance. Representatives from St. Louis University and Southern Illinois University are also among the speakers, and will no doubt be discussing such disciplines as sports nutrition and therapy.
The clinic will take place on May 3, starting at 8.15 am. Early registration, which means registering before May 3, is $65. At the door, the price will go up slightly to $75.
Clinic organizers might consider working with brochure printers to create a mailer for sports professionals in the area, letting them know of what the day has to offer them.
