The 49th Annual Great Forest Park Balloon Race will take place this fall in the St. Louis region. The event is presented by PNC Bank and takes place on 30 acres in Forest Park.
Historically, over 1000 hot air balloons have participated in the balloon race at Forest Park. This year the plans include an additional 50 balloons to the line-up.
The event will kick off with a Balloon Glow that takes place Friday evening starting at 7:00 p.m. The balloons inflate and glow creating a backdrop that looks like huge lanterns. After the balloons are in place, the field will open allowing attendees to walk by the balloons for a close up look. They can also visit with pilots, learn more about hot air balloons and take memorable pictures
Food trucks and family-friendly activities will begin at that time. Live music begins at 5:00 p.m. The grand finale for the event starts at 9:15 p.m. and will be a spectacular fireworks show.
Banners are often seen on balloons at this type of event. Banner printing can be handled by local Print shops to meet any required specifications including size and color combination. The Banners can include logos and graphics.
The 49th Annual Great Forest Park Balloon Race is scheduled for September 17 and 19 and is free to the public to attend.
