The St. Louis County Police Department has become involved in not only effecting a change a people’s attitudes in the county about St. Louis Animal Care and Control, but in helping with fundraising efforts too.
Police officers and potential pets have modelled together, and with the help of printing services, a unique 2020 calendar has been created.
The Calendars will cost $20 each and proceeds from the sales of these calendars will support the Pet Adoption Center and the Police Athletic League (PAL). Plenty of residents of St. Ann will no doubt want to purchase these calendars to help these worthy causes and have pictures of these adorable pets.
Lynn Terry, the photographer, came up with the idea for the calendar as those animals taken in by animal control often have greater difficulty in finding a home. She added that they equally deserve a home as those in animal shelters, but the availability of these animals is not made known to the community.
Proceeds from the calendar sales will be evenly split between PAL and the Adoption Center. Sergeant Shawn McGuire of the St. Louis County Tactical Operations Unit said that PAL helps more than just the police, as it supports officers engaged in a variety of sports with kids in the county.
The calendar will be available for purchase in October.
