Poke Doke to open in Delmar Loop

Poke Doke, a fast-casual restaurant serving the increasingly-popular poke bowls, is planning to open a location soon in the Delmar Loop.

The Poke Doke on Euclid Avenue was the first poke bowl eatery in St. Louis, opening at the end of 2017. The venture was an immediate success, leading to the upcoming expansion. The Shih siblings, Steve, Leon, Annie, and Andrew, co-own Poke Doke, and although this is the first time they have owned a restaurant, their parents run Chesterfield's Hot Wok. When they were in Los Angeles, the four enjoyed eating poke bowls and decided it was time to introduce Midwesterners to the concept.

Patrons are able to customize their bowls, choosing a size and base - which includes soba noodles, greens, or rice - and then adding a protein, which includes delicious choices such as tofu, shrimp, spicy tuna, ahi tuna, or salmon. They can add as much drizzle and topping as they would like. Poster printing is a great method that owners of businesses like this can use to create attractive displays of their menu items.

Bowls are not the only items on the menu. Diners can also enjoy appetizers like crab Rangoon, miso soup, or potstickers. Bubble teas and ice cream are also on the menu.

Andrew Shih, the restaurant's managing partner, says they are aiming for a late March opening. They will be taking over Chipotle's space in the Loop; Chipotle closed in 2017.
