One of pop's biggest stars coming to St. Louis
One of the brightest stars in the world of popular music will be in St. Louis this summer.
Janet Jackson is bringing her Black Diamond Tour to the Enterprise Center. After starting her career I television, in 1982 she moved into music, and five years later came out with her album “Control,” which she used to describe the problems facing women in the industry. Songs such as “Nasty” commented on social conditions. Five singles off the album went to Top Ten status.
In the 1990s, Jackson hit the top of the chart six times, with songs as dissimilar as the hard-rock “Black Cat,” and the much mellower “Together Again.” All the hits were different in quality and aesthetics, showing off different parts of the artist's personality, and just how varied her musical tastes are.
