As part of a larger expansion, an airline has announced it will be flying from St. Louis to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sun Country Airlines recently revealed its schedule for fall, 2019, which will include flights to McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas from St. Louis Lambert International Airport. There will be two flights a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
Sun Country previously announced a number of flights to various destinations from St. Louis, starting this summer. Sun Country will be flying to Minneapolis/St. Paul four times weekly, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. It will also fly to Portland, Oregon, twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. When changes like this are made, officials can use brochure printing to create new schedules.
Both the airline and the airport are happy with Sun Country's expansion. Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, the airport's director, said its increased flights give travelers more options, while the airline said it was excited to continue expanding into the St. Louis market, and particularly to offer flights to such a popular vacation destination.
The new service to Las Vegas is scheduled to start September 5, while the summer schedule goes into effect June 7. The Portland service is only temporary, and flights to the Oregon city will end September 4, but the flights to Las Vegas will continue at least to the end of the year.
