Story of the Year first got together in 1995 in St. Louis, calling themselves 67 North at first. In 1998, they became Big Blue Monkey, but changed their name again in 2002, after discovering another group with that name already existed. Also in 2002, they released their first EP, titled “Story of the Year,” so the name change also reflected their debut effort.
That same year they were signed by Maverick Records, and dropped their first album, “Page Avenue,” the following year. Two singles from the album, “Anthem of Our Dying Day” and “Until the Day I Die” received substantial airplay. Their most recent album is “Wolves,” which they successfully crowd funded in 2016, in fewer than three days. They gave the album its wide release in 2017, but it was not until 2019 that local fans got to hear them play it live, at the band's yearly hometown show at The Pageant.
A review of a previous appearance of the band at The Pageant said:
“Awesome. Wonderful. Best concert ever. SOTY never disappoints.”
This time, Story of the Year will not be at The Pageant, but will appear at Delmar Hall on December 4 and 5 at 8:00 pm both days. Handouts to advertise events like this can be prepared by flyer printing companies.
