Arena show to rock St. Louis

Rock bands once packed arenas, and now four major outfits are on the way to St. Louis to do that again.

Def Leppard is joining Motley Crue, Poison, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts for one night that promises to be a rock fan's dream. Every one of these bands has charted multiple times.

Def Leppard formed in Sheffield, England, in 1977, and is a main player in British heavy metal. Among the group's hits are “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” and “Rock of Ages.” Def Leppard has sold over 100 million records throughout the world.

Motley Crue has at least 100 million album sales to their credit. The group got together in 1981 in Los Angeles, and broke through into the mainstream in 1983 with their album, “Shout at the Devil,” which was eventually certified as 4x platinum.

Poison got together in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1983. Their biggest hit, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” is off their “Open Up and Say . . . Ahh!” album, released in 1988. In total, Poison has sold approximately 45 million albums.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts formed early in the 1980s. Their break came in 1981, at a live concert in New York City, which led to the release of their album “I Love Rock and Roll,” which spawned the hit single of the same name.

The rock legends will be at Busch Stadium on June 25, at 4.30 pm. Flyer printing can provide handouts to advertise shows like this.
