The St. Louis African Arts Festival will return to the city in May at the World's Fair Pavilion in Forest Park.
The St. Louis African Arts Festival is a cultural experience where attendees can see traditional performances and browse numerous crafts and food vendors. The fest was created thanks to Washington University's African Studies Conference. The event started in 1991 to educate people about African culture and showcase the cultural contributions of the African diaspora. The parent organization of the fest is the African Heritage Association of St. Louis.
Businesses interested in being part of the arts festival can pay for a booth space. The fest offers spaces for both general and food vendors. General vendors are required to list all of the items they plan on selling at their stalls, and all food vendors must show they have a valid food permit. Both types of vendors will need to pay a $300 security deposit when the apply to the festival. Single and double booth spaces are available at the venue.
The African arts fest will be held from Saturday, May 24 to Monday, May 26. Those who wish to support the African Heritage Association of St. Louis and its event can give a donation. Vendors may set up at the festival on Friday, May 23. Business owners who have stalls at similar cultural events to this may use banner printing to differentiate their spaces from other booths.
