St. Louis theater to offer drive-through experience

The Repertory Theatre St. Louis will be organizing a family-friendly program at the Missouri History Museum in January.

The Snowy Day: A Glowy Snowy Experience is a socially-distanced activity where families can drive through a festive display based on a children’s story by Ezra Jack Keats, titled “The Snowy Day.” The Repertory Theatre has partnered with the StoneLion Puppet Theatre for the event. Guests will listen to a podcast during their drive that tells the story of a young boy enjoying the season’s first snow with friends. Giant puppets and glowing scenery will be included in the display.

The Repertory Theatre is an organization that debuted in 1966, with its first performance being The Private Ear and the Public Eye. People can donate money to support the theater and join one of its groups, such as the Artistic Directors Circle, Spotlight Society, and the Leading Ladies. Those interested in volunteering for the performing arts organization can sign up to become an usher, tour guide, or special event assistant.

The drive-through display will be set up from Friday, January 6 to Monday, January 9. There is no cost to visit the theater’s program, though guests must register in advance. Registration for the experience will open on Monday, December 26. Theaters that offer programs such as this can market them to local families by using flyer printi
