St. Louis organization to teach children bike riding skills
St. Louis BWorks will be holding a four-week training program in January that teaches kids how to ride bikes with two wheels.
The Learn-To-Ride Course is a program designed to teach those aged 8-17 how to ride bicycles. Those who enroll in the course will receive a loaner bike and helmet during classes. Participants in the program are expected to attend all four training sessions and complete a few homework assignments in between lessons. Children are encouraged to put on a face mask while inside the St. Louis BWorks facility, though the masks are not mandatory.
St. Louis BWorks is an organization founded in 1988 that wishes to inspire youth through its educational activities. Several programs are held by the group, including the St. Louis Byte Works and St. Louis Book Works. People can show their support for St. Louis BWorks by donating items to the organization, such as bicycles and most types of computers. The group also welcomes volunteers and accepts monetary donations.
The bike riding course will be held from Tuesday, January 10 to Tuesday, January 31. Each lesson will last from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. There is no cost for children to register for the program, though advance registration is required. Organizations offering informative afternoon activities to kids may use poster printing to make ads that can be displayed in schools.
