South St. Louis to get Indian/Nepalese restaurant

A new restaurant will soon open in South St. Louis, bringing Indian and Nepalese dining to residents in the area.

The Himalayan Yeti is a fine-dining establishment that also has a full bar, and offers patrons a wide range of Indian dishes, with a few Nepalese options available as well.

Himalayan Yeti is taking over a spot on South Kingshighway that has previously been home to other restaurants. Dipak Prasai, the proprietor, is a Nepali who lived in California until he came to St. Louis. He has 10 years’ experience in the food service industry, and is a chef at Rasoli, an Indian restaurant in the city’s Central West End.

However, Prasai has always wanted to open his own place where he can serve his own style of cooking. He was happy to find the property he is now occupying, since it means that those with a fondness for Asian food do not have to leave their local area.

He adds that his menu will be familiar to diners who enjoy Indian food, since he plans a full Indian menu. The Nepalese dishes he plans to serve are similar to Indian cuisine.

Establishments like this can benefit by working with flyer printing companies, which can create handouts for distribution near the place around the time of its opening, to invite new patrons to visit.

The Himalayan Yeti could be open before the end of the month.
