Live St. Louis soccer to be screened this season
As soccer gains popularity in the United States, the Saint Louis Football Club (SLFC) is excited that their games will soon be broadcast by KPLR, Channel 11.
The president of the club, Patrick Barry, said that finding a station to broadcast the games was a priority for the season, as the club continues to grow. A total of 10 upcoming games will be broadcast.
Kurt Krueger, who is the vice president of KPLR, said the station has a long history of broadcasting local sporting events, and is delighted to be the one to handle the first televised soccer games in the city. He notes that soccer is very popular in St. Louis, and he feels it is time the sport was given the recognition it deserves.
SLFC plays in the United Soccer League (USL), and is in its third season with the organization. The team has a new head coach in Predrag (Preki) Radosavljevic, who played on the U.S. Men's Soccer National Team, and won recognition as an MVP in Major League Soccer. More than 5,000 fans go to Fenton, Missouri, to see the team, which plays its home games at Toyota Stadium. Broadcasts begin in April.
Organizations like this can benefit if managers work with a printing company to create promotional pens to be distributed at the games. The pens can tie in the broadcasts.
