According to the article, Business Cards have a single purpose which they fulfill well and while they do it they remain very personal. Pentagram partner Michael Bierut describes Business Cards as 'as personal as underwear.' He says:
"Some like to sport something stylish or unusual. Others are uneasy with anything other than something straightforward in plain white."
As part of celebrating the endurance of the business card, Printmag asked the Heads of State to design the best business card in the world. The winning entry includes the slogan 'don't you forget about me' with the tagline 'specializing in handshakes and the pulling of heartstrings.'
Bierut is convinced that the business card, whose history goes back to the 17th century (though the modern business card goes back to the 19th century), will remain a valuable business tool. And that's good news for printing companies.
