Chesterfield residents interested in eco-friendly living may want to attend the upcoming 14th annual Green Homes Festival.
The day-long, hands-on event will be focusing on healthy, sustainable lifestyles. Everyone will be learning the links between a healthy environment, conservation at home, energy efficiency and sustainability.
Attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy the ‘Eat Well Local’ food court and live music.
Some of the more than 70 participants will be selling handmade and sustainable items. Other participants from leading sustainability oriented organizations and businesses will be offering demonstrations, presentations and hands-on activities. They will focus on the many ways air, soil, energy, plants, and water sustain our Earth, health, and homes.
Attendees will get the chance to speak with experts about their own projects and ‘green’ interests. Pictures taken with recycling characters will make great poster printing subjects.
Solar-oven baked treats will be available. Kids and parents can build miniature sun-powered cars to enter in solar car races. Local arts groups will be presenting recycled art activities.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th, 9am to 4pm, and the new location will be at the Butterfly House located in Faust Park, 15193 Olive Blvd in the Chesterfield area. The festival will be free, and a ‘Fun Pass’ is set to be available for purchase to ride the St. Louis Carousel and attend the Tropical Conservatory of the Butterfly House.
