It will soon be time for Chesterfield folk to get outdoors and enjoy the season, and they can do this by attending the upcoming St. Louis County Parks’ Annual Faust Olden Days of Summer 2014.
Although geared towards children under the age of 12, everyone is likely to enjoy both the seasonal weather and the atmosphere of the late 1800s.
The event will feature demonstrations such as rope-making, blacksmithing, corn husk doll making, candle dipping, and wood carving. Activities will include hay rides, two-person log sawing, a petting zoo, pony rides, and face painting.
The park’s historic schoolhouse will hold activities reminiscent of the ones students used to have during their education in the old one-room schoolhouse. There will also be old-fashioned baseball games and historic crafts. Picnic tables will be available in a shaded area for those who want to bring a lunch. Organizers may wish to have flyer printing done to promote the event.
The event will be held rain or shine on June 13, June 27, and July 11 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Faust Park, 15185 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield. One Parent gets in free with each child of 2-12 years old. Children’s tickets will be $10 in advance or $15 at door, and they will be able to ride the park’s historic St. Louis Carousel all day as a bonus.
