Chesterfield’s Central Park will be holding an Environmental Speaker Series during the last part of April and the beginning of May. The series will offer four programs.
The first one on Thursday, April 22nd, will be Recycling Effectively: Making Sure You Are Doing It Right! Republic Services will answer any questions regarding what items may or may not be recycled and discuss the new recycling rules.
The following Thursday, April 29th there will be a Bee Keeping Seminar conducted by local hobbyist beekeepers, Troy and Leslie Garner.
In keeping with the insect theme, Thursday, May 13th the topic for the series will be Gardening for Butterflies. Sophia M Sachs Butterfly House educators will be giving advice on building a successful butterfly garden. Among other recommendations they will discuss butterfly nectar plants and caterpillar host plants.
Thursday, May 20th the lecture will be about calculating and reducing carbon footprints. After a discussing on what a carbon footprint is, the talk will turn to the highest causes of them and how they can be reduced.

All talks will take place from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm at Center Park’s West Pavilion and all ages are welcome. The series will be free but registration is required.
