Now that spring is here and Chesterfield children are heading outdoors, advisory groups in the area have chosen this month to hold a safety refresher.
Along with other concerned community partners such as the Chesterfield Police and St. Louis Police Departments, the Taubman Prestige Outlets will be hosting its annual Child Safety Day, which is a free family-oriented event.
The event will offer bike and traffic safety refresher sessions, along with a bike safety course. D.A.R.E will be on hand to teach children good decision-making skills that will empower them to choose to live free of substance abuse, violence, and with respect for others. Little ones will enjoy seeing a police car, ambulance, fire truck, and helicopter. Local police will be handing out fingerprinting kits and other ID-related accessories for kids, and conducting free child safety car seat inspections.
Adults will be informed about food allergy awareness, and summer safety tips from care centers and operations officers. Children will enjoy the bounce house and balloon twisting demonstrations, as well as a visit from Rampage, the St Louis Rams mascot. This should be an excellent opportunity for picture-taking for any child safety campaign’s poster printing.
The event will be held Saturday, May 17, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Taubman Prestige Outlets 17017 N Outer 40 Rd, Chesterfield.
