St. Louis County will celebrate Halloween at six locations throughout the month. The events will run the gamut of Halloween activities.
Foust Park will start things off with its Halloween Frenzy. Children are invited to come in costume. They may also bring pumpkins they have previously decorated to participate in the best pumpkin contest. Riding the carousel, eating treats, and playing games will be the order of the day. Registration is required.
Halloween Storytelling for Chesterfield’s little ones will be at the Pavilion at Lemay. For the older guests, there will be Ghost Stories related by costumed storytellers at Jefferson Barracks. Creaking floors and candlelight, plus noises from the woods and wood fires, will add to the ambience.
The St. Vincent Community Center will be presenting its annual St. Vincent Haunted Shelter Extravaganza. A costume contest, sand volleyball, hot chocolate, candy, and s’mores are on the agenda.
Pumpkin carving will be supervised by a Park Ranger at the Spindler Shelter at Suson Park. Pumpkins, designs, and tools will be provided. Preregistration is required and there will be $10 fee. Everyone will want to bring cameras to capture their creations for later poster printing.
On Halloween evening, the North County Recreation Complex will be holding its Halloween Boo-nanza. Hayrides, a marshmallow roast, and bonfire, along with a scavenger hunt, crafts, costume contest, pumpkin carving, and Haunted Caverns, will great the guests.
