Three Christmas events involving cookies, Santa, candy canes, and tree lighting have been planned for the first weekend in December.
From 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Friday, December 2, Santa will pose with Eberwein Dog Park members’ kids and their canine friends at Santa Paws. Families are invited to bring their cameras and cell phones to take pictures. The event will be free, but registration is required. It will be at the Eberwein Dog Park, 1627 Old Baxter Road.
That evening, Chesterfield children may don their Christmas pajamas and take their place at Mrs. Claus’s cookie table, then sit by a Christmas tree and munch on holiday cookies as they listen to Santa read seasonal stories. This event will be geared to ages 2 to 12 and tickets are $5 each. Cookies with the Claus’ will take place at the Chesterfield Community Center at 237 Chesterfield Mall on December 2, starting at 6:30 pm.
Saturday’s festivities begin the next afternoon at 4:00 pm at Central Park with the annual Candy Cane Hunt presented by Chesterfield Parks, Recreation & Arts. Admission will be $10.
The Tree Lighting will begin at 5:30 pm that evening, with food, music, hot chocolate, and crafts. New, unwrapped toys may be donated for Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital at both events. One toy will equal one chance to light the tree.
Pictures taken at events such as these often go to Stationery printers to be used in creating seasonal notecard sets.
