Soon, the Lung Cancer Connection will be holding its biggest fundraiser of the year – its annual 5K Run/Walk.
With a shorter course also available, families, friends, and friendly pets are all invited to take part.
First, there will be registration and check in which will be followed by a Dance Jam Warm Up. Next will be the master of ceremonies welcome and introduction. The top fundraisers and teams will be recognized. The guest speakers will talk for 20 minutes, then there will be a survivor recognition ceremony. The National Anthem will be presented by the Marquette Chamber Choir, and the race will start, with a ceremony wrapping things up later.
Advance individual registration fees are $30 and children aged 10 and under can race for $10. The fees on the day of the event will go up to $35.
Those who may not want to participate in the run/walk may wish to get some banner printing done to support those family members and friends who will be participating on the day.
Although the race is scheduled for 9:30 am this Saturday, April 16 at the Chesterfield Amphitheater, 631 Veterans Place Drive Chesterfield, registration and check in begins at 7:30 am. The event will go until 12:30 pm. Every dollar will go to support St. Louis lung cancer programs.
