Chesterfield runs its first Blossom Bolt

The 1st Annual Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce Blossom Bolt 5K/10K will take place in a few weeks.

This event will include a 5K, 10K and a half-mile Sprout Sprint for kids under 10. The Chamber of Commerce expects the event to draw about 1,300 participants, as that is how many participated in the Annual Gumbo Flats Pumpkin Run back in the fall. The races will be sponsored by Orangetheory Fitness.

The 5K entry fee will be $25, the 10K will be $30, the Sprout Run will be $15, and the Virtual Runner fee will be $20.

Each sponsor will display their business logo and graphic design on the back of race T-Shirts. Early race registrants will be guaranteed these shirts in their requested sizes. Those registering between March 29 and April 7 will get shirts, but not necessarily in the requested sizes. No shirts are guaranteed after April 7.

Sponsors will want to get their logos and company names to the organizers before the event banner printing. They will also be invited to set up tents at the venue and distribute information, Promotional Products, and free samples.

Proceeds from Bolt will go to support Connect, Learn and Grow, the mission of the Chamber.

The event will be April 21 at the intersection of Edison and Long Roads, with the 5K and 10K starting at 8:00 am and the Sprout Sprint following at 9:00 am.
