Faust Historic Village has four fall events scheduled from the end of September to the end of October.
First up, a Folklife Festival will see the village come alive with demonstrations and crafts harking back to life in the 1800s. Guests can watch dolls being made from corn husks, pottery being fired by Indigenous People, candles dipped, ropes made, and cooking demonstrations.
The Folklife Festival will take place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September at Faust Park in Chesterfield.
On Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, the park will offer an after-dark hayride tour with a campfire, music, and marshmallows for roasting. Tickets will be $5.
The following Friday and Saturday, October 13 and 14, there will be an Evening in the Cemetery at Thornhill. The house will be decorated and historically dressed docents will discuss superstitions and mourning practices of the period. Chesterfield guests will be taken to the cemetery behind Thornhill to meet Thornhill family members and rumored ghosts. Tickets will be $8.
Finally, the annual Jack O’ Lantern Trail will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday October 27th and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, October 8th. Guests may come costumed to hear a story, trick-or-treat at the village homes, and play games. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance.
