Chesterfield’s neighbour St. Charles will soon be presenting its annual Missouri River Irish Fest. This event is to bring Irish culture, dance and music to the state in order to foster goodwill and friendship with Irish sister cities.
The Red Haired Strangers will open, and the Elders will perform for the rest of that evening. The next night will feature the Viking Experience, the Brianna Brown Band and, the Shamrock Dancers. Other groups will be the Turas, Rusty Nail, and the Clarkson Dancers. The final day will have the Wee Heavies and the Irish Aires on the setlist.
Irish food, exhibits and vendors will also be on hand. A Raffle Drawing and a St. Charles First Responders Memorial Service will close the event.
A Children’s Village will have crafts where the children will make St. Patrick Bag Puppets and a replica of the Blarney Castle. Little ones can also make a pot of gold and bead bracelets, or learn to dance an Irish jig. Children will be listening to Irish tales, making a leprechaun mask, and meeting an Irish dancer.
Everyone will want to mark their Calendars for May 27 through May 29. Friday times will be 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Saturday will be 9:00 am until 11:00 and Sunday will be 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
