The area’s traditional St. Patrick’s Day Parade and pre-parade five-mile run will be two of the highlights for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The 39th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Run - a five-mile run- will kick things off. Usually, over 8,000 runners participate in this event, making it one of the largest runs in the area.
Those runners who register by March 11 will receive a timing chip that will be affixed to a bib number. A runners’ village will be at the finish line at Ballpark Village. Some of the 250,000 spectators will be bringing Banners to support their favorite runners.
Later in the day, the 48th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will step off, regardless of the weather. Over 50,00 marchers will be joining the 120 units that make this parade one of the country’s largest parades. Marching bands, huge cartoon-character balloons, floats, and clowns will be marching through downtown St. Louis.
Along the parade route, Chesterfield spectators may enjoy bratwurst, burgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks that will be available from the many vendor booths. An Irish Village will be at Kiener Plaza. This will not only have food, but entertainment and fun too.
The parade and run will be March 11, and will begin in downtown St. Louis at 20th and Market, stepping off at 12:00 noon. The run will begin at 9:00 am.Get a Free Quote for Banners
