Chesterfield will be hosting its Candy Cane Dash in early December.
Anyone 10 years old or older is invited to take on the fun run through the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex and “cool down” with a cup of hot cocoa and a candy cane after the race.
This will be a 1.5 mile poker run. Runners must complete an activity at each of the six stations in order to receive a playing card. The runner that has the best poker hand at the end of the run will be the winner. Registration fees will be $15 before November 15, and $20 from then until race day.
A toy drive will be collecting new unwrapped toys for infant, preschool and school age children and items for teens at Cardinal Glennon.
Little ones from the ages of 2 and 12 can join in the Candy Cane Hunt at 10:30 am. Children will be divided into three age groups – 2 to 4, 5 to 7, and 8 through 12. Each age group will be hunting for all the candy they can find in specified areas. Tickets run $8 until November 15, and $12 from then until December 7.
Parents at events such as this often take pictures and rush them to local Stationery printers to be made into Christmas cards. Candy Cane Dash and subsequent hunt will be December 7. The race will begin at 9:00 am at CVAC, 17925 North Outer 40 Road, and end around 11:00 am.
