Bookstore offers tips on spying Santa

For parents looking for a way to celebrate the coming holiday season with their little ones, Barnes & Noble will soon be hosting a reading of the children’s book ‘How to Catch Santa’.

The story by Jean Reagan and Lee Wildish, authors of other tales such as ‘How to Babysit a Grandpa’, is meant to amuse listeners with tongue-in-cheek ideas on ways children might catch a peek at Santa when he visits their house on Christmas Eve.

The book will be read by a B&N employee, as parents and children gather round. The story is told from the perspective of two children who seemingly have all the answers. They offer advice freely, such as telling readers to make sure to be crafty, or clever. They also warn against getting carried away or going too far (such as it probably not being a good idea to try to lasso Santa) by reminding readers to be gentle in their approach. As the advice continues, the reader will pause after reading each page to show the children the brightly colored pictures used in the book.

Those interested should mark their Calendars for Saturday, December 18, starting at 11:00 am at Barnes & Noble in the Chesterfield Oaks Shopping Mall, 1600 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield. There is no cost to join in, though children may insist on parents buying the book afterwards.
