Early in August, the 28th Annual Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce Summer Concert Series will be drawing to a close by presenting an evening with Billy Peek.
This concert is expected to attract thousands of spectators, just as the other nine concerts in the series have been doing.
Peek originally toured with Chuck Berry and then his career directed him to work with Rod Stewart. He was Stewart’s lead guitarist for five years and was on four of the star’s albums.
The upcoming show will no doubt include music from his latest solo album ‘Billy Peek Tribute to a Poet’ which he also produced. Chuck Berry classics such as ‘Roll Over Beethoven’, ‘Maybelline’, and ‘Johnny B. Goode’ are selections among the album’s track listing. To open the evening, the audience will get to hear Jack Nations, who is a member of The Sleepers.
Area restaurants will be offering food, and food trucks will be selling popcorn, candy, water, soda, and other beverages. Clothing donations will be collected by Savers.
This season-ending concert will be the last time photographers will get a chance to capture their images to take to the brochure printers for next year’s promotional material.
The event is scheduled for August 11, running from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Faust Park, Chesterfield. Gates will open at 5:30 pm.
