Drinks company Nesquik is sponsoring a Slam Jam at the end of July.
This basketball tournament will be an all-day affair with three-on-three games going on throughout the day. Netters from the age of 10 and up can participate.
Game divisions will be according to age and gender. Each team will play three games, and each division will have a title game on the championship court.
Other activities during the day will be contests such as a three-point competition, a dunk contest, and a skills challenge. There will also be a kids’ play area and food vendors. A shaded relaxation station will be available between games.
The City of Chesterfield will provide hoops, courts, and one game ball. Any other equipment is the responsibility of the team. Sunscreen and water are strongly encouraged.
All teams will be composed of up to four players. All participants will be required to show some type of age identification, be it a birth certificate or photo ID. Teams can pick up their schedules and team swags at the check-in table. Medals will be awarded to each division’s first place teams. Proud family members are sure to be taking pictures of the winners for future poster printing and family Calendars.
The event will be July 29 at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex, 17925 N. Outer Road, Chesterfield, on the eastern portion of the parking lot. It will begin at 9:00 am and wind down sometime around 10:00 pm.
