Annual concert series to feature experienced cover band

The Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce is presenting its summer concert series again this year.

The third concert of the 10-week series takes place midmonth and will be Rockin’ Chair, a cover band composed of a group of musicians who formerly played in the regional bands Nickels and Mesa back in the ‘70s. The event will be free and family oriented.

The series will be held outdoors under the stars and attendees are asked to bring their own seating. Organizers suggest getting there early to ensure a good viewing area, as thousands of spectators are expected.

Rockin’ Chair will be playing music reminiscent of the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, the Allman Brothers, and music of the groups that sprang up by these bands’ members in later years. Some of these later bands were Crosby, Stills and Nash, Loggins and Messina, and The Eagles.

Guests are reminded that there is no need to bring their own food or beverages as the venue will have food trucks. The ones scheduled for this particular evening are Sarah’s Cake Shop, Satchmo’s, Go Gyro Go, and Bombay Food. There will also be candy, popcorn, and beverages available.

No doubt promoted with the help of poster printing, the event will take place in Faust Park, 15185 Olive Boulevard, Chesterfield. The park will open at 5:30 pm, and the concert will run from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
