The holiday season would not be complete without seeing at least one version of Tchaikovsky’s ballet ‘The Nutcracker’. This year, the Alexandria Ballet will present a one-hour family-friendly version of the classic.
This event has been created for those people especially children who want something a little more fast-paced than they would get from a traditional ballet. The performance will be narrated by Elizabeth Reichert.
The program will have a 30-minute first act, followed by a 20-minute intermission. The second and last act will be 30-minutes long. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the Land of Sweets concession stand before the curtain goes up, and during intermission.
For a small fee, pictures may be taken with some of the characters after the show. These would make interesting Holiday Cards to send to friends and relatives this year.
Parking will be free and within five minutes of the venue. Handicap parking will also be available.
The performance is scheduled for Sunday, December 11 starting at 4:00 pm at the Purser Center at Logan University Campus, 1851 Schoettler Road here in Chesterfield. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, November 5, at 10:00 am. Adult reserved seating will be $21.50 and tickets for children aged 2 to 12 will be $10.50. General admission for adults will be $16.50 while children’s general admission will be $11.50.
