Plymouth seminar to bring behavioral science into the courtroom

A Plymouth seminar will offer insight into how science-based techniques can find a place in the courtroom, and it will be offered by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

This learning opportunity, which will be facilitated by Rex Parris, will explore how the field of cognitive behaviour – as well as factors such as structure, time and neuro linguistics – may help lead to a successful legal outcome. It will be taught in a live classroom format, and will last for a whole day.

The workshop will open with registration and a continental breakfast, and the attendees will be able to chat before the learning begins. The seminar itself will open with a discussion of how science can play a role in the courtroom, and networking breaks, one of which will be sponsored by the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Michigan, have been built in to the schedule.

Attending an event like this may be helpful to attorneys, as it will allow them to offer the best services they can to their clients. Workshop packages that include note pads, promotional Pens, Brochures and other items can be ordered ahead of time to distribute to each of the registrants.

The “Masters in Litigation - The Science of Persuasion: Using Cognitive Science and Behavioral Economics in the Courtroom” learning session was originally intended to be held on March 26, but it has been rescheduled to September 16. The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth will be the venue for the day.
