Geology buffs and jewel lovers will be treated to an event planned with them in mind next month, giving them a chance to add some new specimens to their own personal collection.
Schoolcraft College in Livonia is set to host an event filled with minerals and fossils, and there will be items from all over the world on the auction block. It will be family friendly, and at least 1,000 pieces will be in the sale.
The plans for the weekend include silent, live, and mini-silent auctions, and they will start every hour, which will add a touch of excitement to the occasion. The mini-silent auctions will be geared towards the bargain hunter as well as kids and other newbies, and it will give them a chance to learn how the activity works and enjoy the fun of placing a winning bid.
The charity of choice will be the Scholarship Fund at Schoolcraft College, and the function is being hosted by the Roamin Rock Club. Only Checks and cash will be accepted as payment.
Preparing for an auction-style fundraiser may include contacting a local printing services company. It will be happy to provide everything from custom design auction paddles to bidding sheets, signage, Letterheads, and marketing materials.
Plymouth rockhounds may want to save the date for March 7 and 8, with the event running 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on the Saturday and 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on the Sunday.
