Plymouth festival to feature frosty fun

One of Plymouth's signature winter events is its annual Ice Festival, and plans are underway for another offering of this cold weather celebration. It will feature many activities, including the glittering ice sculptures that have come to be one of the stars of the show.

The planners of the three-day-long festival billed it as a world class event, and it gives the area’s business community a chance to show the world all it has to offer. It tends to attract many visitors to Plymouth’s downtown, and it will kick off with an opening ceremony and special ribbon cutting.

The sculptors showcasing their talents during the festival will be working in ice, and if the weather cooperates, their finished creations will be available for the public to view 24 hours a day. Visitors can have their photos taken with them, and there will be lots of other fun as well. The event host noted that ‘The Ice Book’, which offers more information about the festival, is now available online to anyone who is interested. Print shops can prepare hard copy versions of this sorts of item.

One of the festival's offerings that has proven to be a big draw is the “Dueling Chainsaws” competition. In this, two artists will be going head to head to show off both their creative and woodsman’s skills using nothing more than a block of ice, a chainsaw, and 15 minutes.

This chance for the whole family to enjoy some cold weather fun will be running from January 10 to January 12 in Plymouth. Its organizers wished to express their thanks to the local business community for its support.
