Plymouth birders to enjoy feathery fun

Plymouth folks will soon be able to experience the thrill that comes when a wild bird trusts a human enough to eat out of their hand.

The Kensington Metropark Nature Center is hosting a field trip that will give Detroit Audubon members a chance to feed wild birds. Many species that tend to be tame and friendly can be found at the venue, and two subject matter experts will serve as the leaders for the field trip.

To make sure the activity is well organized, the planners have asked everyone to sign up ahead of time. Anyone who needs to borrow a pair of binoculars can do so, but they are asked to mention this when they register. Once they arrive at the park, they will be invited to try hand-feeding titmice, chickadees, woodpeckers, and nuthatches. The seed will be provided, and everyone may want to have their phone or camera handy to capture some pictures to cherish.

Anyone who would like to join Detroit Audubon may do so through the activity's website. Print shops can prepare an assortment of marketing materials bearing a not-for-profit group's Logo Design.

This visit to Kensington Metropark Nature Center has been set for Saturday, November 11. The feathery fun will begin at 8:30 am, and more details have been added to its listing on Eventbrite.
