Plymouth area seminar to offer 911 for harried emergency dispatchers

Working as an emergency services dispatcher often means coming into contact with people who are in crisis. Keeping these interactions from becoming negative for the dispatcher or the individual seeking help is not always easy, but a Plymouth area workshop can help.

Adam Timm is a former dispatcher with the 911 service offered by the Los Angeles Police Department, and he is also an author and board certified consultant in the field of stress management. He will facilitate the event, and will include actionable advice he developed when creating a stress resilience program.

The seminar will take approximately eight hours, and will explore customer service from the perspective of a 911 dispatcher. It will include interactions with both callers and co-workers, all with a goal of creating a healthy work environment in a field that can often be very difficult. The students will be encouraged to include out-of-the-box thinking in the performance of their duties, and find ways they can communicate effectively even if tensions are running high.

While this sort of symposium can offer a lot of information, there may not be enough time to include everything. Workshop packages that include promotional Pens, Brochures, and training manuals can be given to each attendee so that they will be able to make the most from participating in the event.

This opportunity to spend some time with The Healthy Dispatcher will be offered on February 25. It will be taking place in the Canton Public Library.
