A pair of retailers serving cancer patients will have space in the new facility when the Sparrow Herbert-Herman Cancer Center in Lansing opens shortly.
Front Room Underfashions and Another Look Hair Institute will share a space. They are part of an effort to offer comprehensive care to patients by accommodating all their needs in one location.
Another Look will be providing cancer patients with custom hair services, like replacement for those who have lost their hair from chemotherapy. The company has been in business for over 50 years, and has its main store on East Saginaw.
Front Room Underfashions’ main shop is located in Delta Township. The boutique clothier, which has been open for approximately 35 years, will be helping women who are dealing with issues surrounding mastectomies. Both stores will keep operations open at the original locations.
Dr. James Herman, the center’s director, said when they were considering which shops to have in the facility, they settled on these two retailers because cancer patients often have concerns about their hair. He also noted that many women do not want to have reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy, so a specialty clothing shop will help meet their needs. Together, the two provide services that will support patients from the beginning of their treatment.
Facilities like this can benefit if officials create Brochures that show the physical layout in detail, and list and describe the comprehensive services offered.
