Lansings MSU IQ to offer behind-the-scenes tour

Next month, MSU's Institute for Quantitative Health Science & Engineering (MSU IQ) in Lansing will hold the Behind-the-Scenes Tour at MSU IQ to provide the public with a tour of the facility.

MSU IQ is a collaborative, interdisciplinary space where groundbreaking research in natural science, human medicine, and engineering occurs. The institute focuses on training the next generation of scientists in innovative ways, with students and researchers being led by faculty from various top academic centers around the globe.

The Mid-Michigan Spartans will be hosting the discussion and tour with Dr. Christopher Contag, the founding director of the institute. An engaging speaker, Dr. Contag will translate the work of IQ researchers into easily understood concepts for a general audience. Some of the research discussed includes The Gut-Brain Axis and Autism by Rebecca Knickmeyer and Self-Assembling Human Mini Hearts and Congenital Heart Disease by Aitor Aguirre.

There will be a reception to begin, followed by the program presentation and the facility tours. Children and high school students accompanied by adults are welcome to attend.

Tours such as this may be advertised through Flyers, which can be printed using local flyer printing businesses.

The free MSU IQ tour is scheduled for Wednesday, August 2 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. MSU IQ is located at 775 Woodlot Drive.
