Lansing tots to explore world of art and creativity

REACH Studio Art Center in Lansing will hold a four-week winter workshop in January called Creative Tots, which will consist of art classes suitable for children ages 2 to 5.

The REACH Studio Art Center is a nonprofit community art center that offers out-of-school creative engagement activities for all ages and levels of ability. These workshops and classes are taught by local working artists in the Lansing area and are offered either free or at a sliding cost scale. There are seven studios on the campus as well as the REACH Art Truck.

The Creative Tots class series is designed for children ages 2 to 5 and their parents. The goal of the classes is to create process-focused art that exposes children to new art methods and encourages exploration of creative materials. The class will be led by instructor Sarah Osborne. Parents will participate along with their children, thereby gaining resources and knowledge of how to foster artistic creativity with their children at home.

Art-focused classes like this will often involve Posters that can visually offer instruction to participants. Organizers may seek out local poster printing services to prepare for such an event.

The Creative Tots Series will run from January 18 to February 8 every Saturday. It will take place at 1804 S Washington Street. Tuition is $56, with scholarships available.
