Lansing conference to bring together women veterans

Next month, the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) will host the Michigan Women Veterans Conference in Lansing.

The MVAA is a state government agency that provides care, resources, support, and advocacy to veterans and their families. The Michigan Women Veterans Conference will be the first statewide conference specifically for women veterans and is projected to attract over 43,000 attendees from across Michigan. The conference is intended to highlight advocacy efforts for female veterans, both self-advocacy and community advocacy efforts.

It will be a two-day event with an optional mixer at the host hotel before the first day so attendees can break the ice with their fellow peers. The first day will include breakfast, lunch, and snack offerings. Panels will focus on topics of health and career promotion, as well as a keynote speaker and segment from the She is A Veteran series. Lansing Brewing Company will provide dinner and non-alcoholic drinks, with an optional cash bar. The second and last day will feature sunrise yoga and a talk by MVAA Director Zaneta Adams.

Professional conferences like this often provide attendees with opportunities to interact with their peers and exchange Business Cards to initiate connections.

The conference is scheduled for June 10 and June 11. It will take place at the Lansing Center on 333 East Michigan Avenue. Tickets are $60.
