Fundraising concert set for Lansing

A hit Broadway show is playing in Lansing, and the cast will be part of an upcoming fundraiser.

‘Hamilton’ is now playing at the Wharton Center, but tickets can cost over $200, and are out of the reach of many people who might like to see the show. However, there’s an alternative.

The Hamilton cast will be appearing for one evening at a benefit concert to raise funds for the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Campaign. The performance is entitled ‘Hamilton’s 90s Block Party’, and will feature cast members performing hits from the 1990s. Broadway Cares is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in New York City. The group organized to meet the challenge of AIDS, HIV, and other illnesses.

The benefit will be held at The Loft on May 27, starting at 7:00 pm, and is for those over the age of 18. Doors will open an hour earlier. Tickets are now on sale from The Loft’s website. General admission is $50, with VIP tickets going for $75. All monies raised will go to fund the Broadway Cares campaign. Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to create appropriate advertising for the show. Posters can also be sold to raise additional funds.

Lansing residents who would like to see Hamilton at the Wharton need to hurry. Although the show is running through June 2, the run is almost entirely sold out.
