Beginner cryptography course planned for Lansing

This March, Tech Training Solutions will be offering a four-week beginner course in cryptography for anyone in the Lansing area interested in learning the basics of protecting and securing information through codes.

Tech Training Solutions offers both in-person and online classes relating to the tech field, in areas such as computer programing, project management, and data security. The March cryptography course will be held online over a span of four weeks and will be broken up into eight sessions lasting two hours at a time. Students will be provided with training materials such as handouts, so organizers may choose to utilize Stationery printers to prepare the instructional papers.

The main objective of the course will be to teach students about cryptographic systems so that they can use them correctly in real world applications. Students will learn specifically what cryptography is and the history of the field. The course will also focus on deployed protocols, analysis of mistakes in existing systems, and public-key techniques. There are no prerequisites to take the course, so organizers encourage anyone curious about cryptography to get involved.

The cryptography course is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 1 and run through Wednesday, March 24. The sessions will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm EST. Tickets are $400 and can be purchased by visiting the organizer’s website.
