Vocalist brings R&B to Bethesda
A vocalist known for his soulful renditions of romantic ballads is coming to Bethesda.
Kenny Lattimore is a native of Washington, D.C., who became interested in music as a child when he sang in choirs at school and church. He also played in his high school band at Roosevelt High School. His first professional job was as a session singer for Maniquin, a R&B group. He eventually became the group’s lead singer, and when he left to pursue a solo career, Maniquin disbanded.
In 1994, Columbia Records signed Lattimore and in 1996, released “Kenny Lattimore,” his debut album. Two Top 20 hits, “For You,” which received a Grammy nomination, and “Never Too Busy” were on this album. The album was eventually certified Gold and won the “Best New Artist” award at the 1996 NAACP Image Awards. To date, he has released eight albums, dropping his latest, “Here to Stay,” in 2021. A review says:
Kenny Lattimore will be at the Bethesda Theater on December 13 at 8.00 pm, with doors opening at 6.30 pm. Organizers, using poster printing, can create advertising for the show.

“. . . Since I got home I have already been watching his videos on YouTube. He is a breath of fresh air in a world filled with rap/hip hop. He actually sings and does it very well. I will be listening to him for a long time.”
