What's Happening in Bethesda, MD…

Repair shop comes to Bethesda

uBreakiFix, a chain of repair shops that fixes computers and cell phones, has opened a location in Bethesda, its first in Maryland.

The franchise, which is growing rapidly, usually completes repairs in less than one day.

The Bethesda store is owned by Randall McKnight, who has over 15 years in the technology industry. He specializes in managing IT service, implementing software solutions to help support call centers, service desks, and help desks. He says he decided to open the franchise because he liked uBreakiFix's commitment to customer service, the measures it takes to insure quality and consistency, the depth of knowledge behind the company, and its standard operating procedures.

McKnight noted that since technology is now such a part of everyday life, a breakdown in any device presents a real problem for users until it is running again. He said he hoped to take what he learned during his IT career to help him deliver exceptional service to uBreakiFix's customers.

The chain fixes electronics of all brands, and repairs water damage, cracked screens, software problems, technical issues, and camera problems. The rapidly expanding chain opened 114 stores in 2016, and is planning to open another 175 in 2017, with a goal of having 450 shops open by the end of the year.

Companies like this can benefit by working with flyer printing companies, which can create handouts for distribution at the store, listing their services.
