Live concert at Bethesdas best venue
A band that sings classics from the ‘80s is gearing up to perform at the club voted the best venue to listen to live music.
The Reagan Years will be performing at Caddies on Cordell, which Bethesda Magazine recently named “Best Place to See a Live Band.” Caddies is the result of three buddies getting together to create a restaurant that provides a comfortable place to enjoy sports and great food. Caddies has an outdoor space and a rooftop area with views of Cordell Avenue.
The Reagan Years’ current line-up comprises its co-founders, Sy Seyler and Karen Ellison, along with Glenn Riley on guitar, Jody Lewis on bass, Scott Benford handling the sax, Raychel Harvey-Jones doing vocals, Anthony Nuccio also on vocals, and Don Wicklin, a vocalist who sometimes fronts the band.
Ellison and Seyler founded the group in 1996 after leaving the group Aislynn. Seyler is the group’s drummer but also handles vocals, leading on songs by ‘80s bands like The B-52s and Billy Idol. Ellison is a keyboardist who recreates the keyboard sounds so intrinsic to the songs from this era, and performs renditions of classics from artists like Pat Benatar and Joan Jett.
